How we ask

The first time you visit, a banner offers Accept all and Reject all as equal choices, with a "Manage choices" option if you want to turn analytics on or off on its own. If you reject, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data tied to you is collected. We remember your choice for about six months, then ask again.

Essential cookies

These are needed for the site to work, so they do not need consent.

Analytics cookies (optional, off by default)

These only load if you choose Accept all or switch on Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand things like how many people visit and which stories they read, so we can make the site better. We do not use it for advertising and we run no ad cookies at all.

Until you allow analytics, our Google tags run in a privacy-preserving mode (Google Consent Mode) that stores nothing on your device and sends only anonymous, aggregate signals. They switch to full analytics only once you opt in.

The Substack subscribe box

The "subscribe" box is an embedded form served by Substack. If you interact with it, Substack may set its own cookies inside that form, governed by Substack's privacy policy. Your email goes straight to Substack and never passes through princefreddie.com.

Changing your mind

Use at any time to turn analytics on or off. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings; the site still works without the optional ones.
