Cookies
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. We keep this simple: two essential cookies of our own run the site, and optional analytics and advertising cookies follow your choice. In the UK and the EU nothing optional is set until you say yes; in the US, Canada and Australia they are on unless you opt out (details below). You can change your mind whenever you like.
How we ask
In the UK, the EU and most of the world, the first time you visit a bar offers Yes to cookies and No cookies as equal choices, with a "Manage choices" option to switch each purpose on or off on its own. Nothing optional runs until you say yes. If you sign up without answering, the bar asks once more on the next page; if you said no, we don't ask again. We remember your choice for about six months, then ask again.
In the United States (except Washington, Nevada and Connecticut) and Australia, the optional cookies below are on from your first visit and no bar is shown. In Canada (except Quebec) they are on too, with a short notice and an Opt out button. Anywhere, you can switch them off with , and if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out. Washington, Nevada, Connecticut and Quebec visitors are asked first, as in the UK.

Analytics and advertising cookies (optional)
There are two purposes, and you can choose each one. Learn what found you: we use Google Analytics to understand things like how many people visit and which stories they read, and Google Ads conversion measurement, the Meta Pixel and OpenAI's ads pixel to know when one of our ads brought someone here who then signed up, and Microsoft Clarity to see, without names, how people move through our pages (where they tap, how far they scroll), so we can make them easier to use. A gentle reminder: Google and Meta can show our ads to you again on their sites and apps for a few weeks (remarketing). Our partners are Google, Meta, OpenAI and Microsoft. We never tell them anything about your sleep, and never share your email address with them through these cookies. Say no, and none of this happens.
Until you allow them, our Google tags run in a privacy-preserving mode (Google Consent Mode) that stores nothing on your device and sends only anonymous, aggregate signals. They switch to full analytics only once you opt in.

When you start a trial or subscribe to The Settle Premium, you move to Supercast's checkout, which sets its own cookies under Supercast's privacy policy. Our stories page at stories.letthedaysettle.com is hosted by Substack and follows Substack's.
Changing your mind
Use at any time to turn either purpose on or off. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings; the site still works without the optional ones.
